Student Revolution – added 6/17/2009

Student Pad allows the user to search the Internet while writing in a web browser at the same time! It also comes with HEAPS of cool addons and extra features and allows you to browse the web and type into a text document at the same time. You can Print the text and web page, view the web source, go forward, back, navigate, change font and colour as well as adding bullet points. These are just a few of the avaliable things that can be used. Student Revolution has the Word processor and the Web Browser, but this time there is a split-bar separating the two, so can be re-adjusted to suit the user’s preferences.

Spacilus Search Engine Assistant for Google – added 9/11/2006

Everybody knows the problem: Among a typical list of search results you usually find a lot of entries that do not offer any real value towards your search request but consist of a bunch of links directing you to some shopping site or lure you to some website that might try to play all sorts of tricks. Spacilus uses Bayesian statistics to categorize search results. Put simply, Bayesian classification looks at the joint probabilities of a search results words and phrases to belong to a certain category. For example, a search result that contains a phrase like “price comparison” will most likely belong to a category “Commercial” or “Spam” rather than to a category “Informative”.

Dave’s Quick Search Deskbar is a tiny textbox that Dave Bau designed for search hounds with weary mouse-fingers. Unlike the Google Toolbar, this little deskbar lets you launch searches without starting a web browser first, directly from your Windows Explorer Taskbar.
