Port Magic is a port scanner that detects port scans and catch the perpetrators. Hackers use port scans to probe your system to see what services are running. You can track the address of the perpetrator & time of probe and confuse the prober with “fake” ports.


Winips – added 12/15/2005

Winips is a handy utility that lets you quickly and easily change the IP address of any TCP/IP interface on your computer. It is a single < 100k EXE that installs itself on the toolbar when run and lets you choose from a recent IP address or saved ones. This is a huge timesaver if you configure or debug network equipment all day long! Keep it on your USB memory stick for use on any NT or XP computer. It saves most recent settings with the exe so you can easily move between computers.

Ntop – added 8/30/2005

Ntop is a network traffic probe that shows the network usage, similar to what the popular top Unix command does. ntop is based on libpcap and it has been written in a portable way in order to virtually run on every Unix platform and on Win32 as well. ntop users can use a a web browser (e.g. netscape) to navigate through ntop (that acts as a web server) traffic information and get a dump of the network status. In the latter case, ntop can be seen as a simple RMON-like agent with an embedded web interface.

NetMeter is a small, customizable network bandwidth monitoring program for Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT4/2000/XP. The program has been tested extensively on Windows 2000 and XP, but it should work just as well on all other Win32 operating systems.
