Xcorder – added 12/4/2008
Xcorder is a freeware voice activated (VOX) recorder designed to work with communication receivers or ’scanners’ however there are many other applications it can be used for. Xcorder works by recording only when a signal is detected, this can save a lot of hard disk space as well as monitoring time. The program works best when recording VHF / UHF FM radio transmissions as this mode has very good squelch characteristics which enables easier record triggering within Xcorder. Recording HF comms like Single Sideband transmissions (SSB) can also be accomplished, however setting the record trigger level may not be as successful as with FM comms due to the characteristics of side band transmissions and the varying noise levels found on HF.
BluetoothView – added 12/2/2008
BluetoothView is a small utility that runs in the background, and monitor the activity of Bluetooth devices around you. For each detected Bluetooth device, it displays the following information: Device Name, Bluetooth Address, Major Device Type, Minor Device Type, First Detection Time, Last Detection Time, and more.
WirelessNetView – added 9/9/2008
WirelessNetView is a small utility that runs in the background, and monitor the activity of wireless networks around you. For each detected network, it displays the following information: SSID, Last Signal Quality, Average Signal Quality, Detection Counter, Authentication Algorithm, Cipher Algorithm, and more.
WiPeer – added 3/15/2007
WiPeer provides peer-to-peer Wi-Fi and home/office networking based collaborative applications such as multiplayer interactive games, chat (IM) and file sharing. This is through direct communication between the devices and without going through any third party infrastructure or gateway, and without relying on a central server.
WirelessKeyView – added 2/8/2008
WirelessKeyView recovers all wireless network keys (WEP/WPA) stored in your computer by the ‘Wireless Zero Configuration’ service of Windows XP and by the ‘WLAN AutoConfig’ service of Windows Vista. It allows you to easily save all keys to text/html/xml file, or copy a single key to the clipboard.
WiFi SiStr – added 10/20/2006
WiFi SiStr is a small tool to keep your Wi-Fi signal strength always visible while maintaining customizable logs, statistics and averages.
Kismet – added 2/22/2006
Kismet is an 802.11 layer2 wireless network detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system. Kismet will work with any wireless card which supports raw monitoring (rfmon) mode, and can sniff 802.11b, 802.11a, and 802.11g traffic. Kismet identifies networks by passively collecting packets and detecting standard named networks, detecting (and given time, decloaking) hidden networks, and infering the presence of nonbeaconing networks via data traffic.
2hotspot – added 2/23/2006
2hotspot is a service that enables the creation of wireless hotspots. Run your own wireless hotspot network with centralized management of hundreds of locations or create a branded hotspot portal.
AirSnare – added 2/21/2006
AirSnare is another tool to add to your Wireless Intrusion Detection Toolbox. AirSnare will alert you to unfriendly MAC addresses on your network and will also alert you to DHCP requests taking place. If AirSnare detects an unfriendly MAC address you have the option of tracking the MAC address’s access to IP addresses and ports or by launching Ethereal upon a detection.
