GridinSoft Notepad is a small text editor with some additional features that are of interest to programmers. It offers customizable syntax highlighting for more than 25 popular scripting languages, including HTML, ASP, PHP, Perl, Pascal, C++ and others. The code can also be exported (including syntax highlighting) to HTML or RTF format. In addition, it includes spell checking and offers print support and allows you to preview the syntax colored output before sending it to the printer. The color schemes can be easily customized to meet your preference.


SciTE – added 5/26/2004

SciTE is a SCIntilla based text editor. Originally built to demonstrate the Scintilla edit component, it has grown to be a generally useful editor with facilities for building and running programs. It is best used for jobs with simple configurations – I use it for building test and demonstration programs as well as SciTE and Scintilla, themselves.

Very compact XML Editor with integral XML parser, drag and drop tree view, seperate editor for node text and seperate list view to display/edit node attributes.
